CAR 20H is Kuzma's entry level and it is  the same MC cartridge as CAR 20 but with higher output voltage of 2mV.

The Kuzma CAR 20 is a moving coil phono cartridge designed for high-fidelity analog playback, combining meticulous engineering with audiophile-grade materials. It features a synthetic elliptical stylus and an aluminum cantilever, chosen to maximize musical integrity and ensure accurate tracking of record grooves. The cartridge is available in both low-output (0.3 mV) and high-output (2 mV) versions, allowing compatibility with a wide range of phono preamps and audio systems.

Build and Design

The CAR 20 utilizes a rigid housing constructed from a combination of aluminum and brass, providing inert support for the signal generator and minimizing unwanted resonances. This design philosophy is consistent with Kuzma’s approach to all their high-end products, ensuring the diamond stylus can extract musical detail without distortion. The cartridge weighs 17 grams and is precision-machined for optimal tonearm coupling and resonance control.

Performance

With a frequency response of 10 Hz to 33 kHz, the CAR 20 delivers a full, dynamic soundstage. It is noted for its big, bold, and solid sonic character, making it suitable for both entry-level and more advanced analog setups. The recommended tracking force is 2.0 grams, and the cartridge’s compliance is 8x10-6 cm/dyne, supporting reliable performance with a variety of tonearms.
