The Kuzma Stabi S Turntable does not include a tonearm or phono cartridge. You must order or have a tonearm and cartridge for a complete turntable system.
You have the option to choose the 9" arm or 12" arm version.
The Kuzma Stabi S is a compact, high-mass belt-drive turntable that uses a striking minimalist brass “T” chassis to deliver serious audiophile performance in a deceptively simple form factor. It is engineered to offer the mechanical integrity and upgrade flexibility normally found in far more expensive decks.
Design and construction
The Stabi S replaces a traditional plinth with two 50 mm solid brass rods, clamped together in a rigid T-shaped structure that directly supports the bearing, platter, and tonearm. This architecture eliminates large resonant panels and creates an extremely rigid and well-damped platform for the record.
An outboard brass motor tower sits completely separate from the main chassis, reducing motor-borne vibration while a precision-ground flat belt couples the motor to the subplatter for smooth, stable rotation. The turntable is available in natural brass or black finishes, giving it an industrial, sculptural presence that stands out in any high-end system.
Platter and bearing
The Stabi S uses a high-mass aluminum platter (approx. 4.3 kg in current 30 mm version) to provide rotational stability and excellent speed consistency. A pointed steel bearing shaft running in a resin/textile sleeve minimizes friction and noise, helping retrieve low-level detail and ambience from the groove.
A soft, non-resonant interface (mat and internal damping) is employed to control platter ringing and provide secure record support without overdamping the sound. This combination yields clean transients, solid bass, and a quiet background that suits both analog purists and critical monitoring.
Motor system and speed
A single AC synchronous motor drives the platter via a flat rubber belt, chosen for reliability and low vibration. The deck offers 33 and 45 rpm speeds, with optional external power supply upgrades for even finer speed accuracy and pitch stability.
The separate motor tower and optional PSU allow you to tune the Stabi S from a high-value entry into Kuzma to a more ambitious reference front end as the rest of the system evolves. This scalability makes it particularly attractive for system builders who plan staged upgrades.
Tonearm compatibility and upgrades
The Stabi S is designed to work with a wide range of tonearms using interchangeable brass armboards, with Kuzma arms mounting directly. Vertical tracking angle (VTA) adjustment is supported for any arm fitted, making it easy to optimize cartridge geometry.
Optional accessories include extra arm bases (including a second-arm adaptor), thicker platter kits, wooden platforms, clamps, and external power supplies, letting the owner configure the deck from a compact single-arm setup to a more elaborate multi-arm analog hub.
