The state of the art Artus turntable from Transrotor comes complete with Turntable, Konstant FMD Power Supply, Artus FMD Rack Stand and free installation in your home/office.

The Transrotor Artus FMD is Transrotor’s statement flagship turntable, a 220 kg, cardanically suspended monument to mass‑loaded vinyl playback and contact‑free magnetic drive technology. It is built to function as a true endgame analog source, combining radical mechanical isolation with multi‑motor Free Magnetic Drive for exceptionally low noise and precision speed stability.
Concept and Positioning

The Artus sits at the very top of the Transrotor range and is widely described as one of the most ambitious turntables ever offered for domestic use. Positioned squarely in “no‑compromise” territory, it targets systems where the turntable is treated as a reference‑grade instrument rather than just a component.

Chassis and Suspension

The drive is mounted in a massive aluminum and black acrylic sandwich structure that visually echoes industrial sculpture as much as audio hardware.

A full cardanic (gimbal) suspension allows the entire assembly to swing freely in any direction, mechanically filtering ground‑borne vibration before it reaches the platter and tonearms.

Free Magnetic Drive and Motors

Transrotor’s FMD (Free Magnetic Drive) uses a rotating magnetic field from three synchronous motors to drive a separate magnetic rotor that in turn spins the platter, eliminating physical contact between motor system and platter.

By removing belt and pulley forces from the platter spindle, the design aims for an extremely smooth, low‑cogging rotation with vanishingly low transmission of motor noise into the record groove.

Platter, Power, and Tonearms

The platter is an ultra‑thick aluminum/acrylic composite designed for very high rotational mass and effective damping of vinyl resonance, locked down by a heavy chrome record weight.

A dedicated Konstant FMD power supply manages and stabilizes the three‑motor array, while the resonance‑optimized, continuously adjustable arm bases can be configured for one or two 9‑inch or 12‑inch tonearms to match the buyer’s preferred high‑end arms.

Scale, Aesthetics, and Use

With dimensions of roughly 55 × 55 × 120 cm and a claimed weight of about 220 kg, the Artus FMD effectively becomes a fixed installation that typically ships and is assembled by a Transrotor rep and us!

Its towering column structure, polished aluminum surfaces, and exposed mechanics give it the presence of a kinetic art piece, intended as both a visual and sonic centerpiece in the most ambitious analog systems.

The Artus FMD comes with assembly and set up in your home at no extra cost.

The Artus FMD ships without tonearm or cartridge; you specify the arm pattern and board (9 or 12 inch) when ordering, and you can add a second arm board later for dual‑arm setups.
The arm base is a resonance‑optimized, steplessly adjustable platform, so most high‑end arms can be accommodated as long as the correct mounting pattern is chosen.
we recommend a Graham Phantom / Elite and similar high‑end unipivots when a slightly more fluid, spacious presentation is desired without giving up setup precision.
Graham’s unipivot‑with‑stabilization designs are highly adjustable and cartridge‑agnostic, and are routinely used with both ultra‑high‑end and more attainable MCs.

Our cartridge recommendation is a Lyra Atlas / Etna / Kleos and Ortofon Windfeld Ti, where the arm’s very fine alignment tools and damping allow precise setup of advanced stylus profiles.
